The new shop front redevelopments at 22 Jordan Street in the Baltic Triangle are set to be completed this week.
The 723 sq.ft space, which spans from Jordan Street to Brick Street, is currently in the final stages of reconstruction. When complete, the site will boast five new shop front mezzanine office spaces looking out onto Jamaica Street.
Funded by the Baltic Creative Community Interest Company, the project marks phase 4 of their five year business plan that runs from 2016 to 2021. The plan aims to add to the future growth and support the changing needs of the creative and digital businesses that the area is renowned for.
The redevelopment project at 22 Jordan Street started in August 2016 and was a collaborative effort delivered by building contractors Monsal Property Ltd, Pearson Architects and Drosinos.
Miles Pearson, an architect working on the development, said:
‘The main objective was to create a more vibrant, active frontage to what used to be a very introverted, dull office building.
The Baltic Triangle is developing at some pace now and I think that it’s the interesting, smaller projects like this one that give the area its intrigue.
The space will include a newly refurbished layout, lighting, electrical heating, fire alarm systems, bathroom facilities, a shared meeting space, kitchen facilities, CCTV and on-site parking.
All five units have been fully leased. Animation and game developers Milky Tea Studios, digital agency EdgeThreeSixty and mobile software developers Novoda are among those taking up residency at the site.
The development is the latest scheme to add to the Baltic Creative’s impressive portfolio of new innovative spaces in the Baltic Triangle area.
It follows on from the successful redevelopment scheme at 16 Jordan Street, which saw nine studio spaces created specifically for the creative and digital industries earlier this year.
