A Summer of Reggae in the Baltic Triangle

If you have been put out by the loss of Positive Vibration festival to Liverpool’s cultural calendar of 2019, do not despair because there’s plenty of reggae-related live events coming your way in the Baltic Triangle this summer. The good people behind Positive Vibration are putting on a series of events to ensure that you get your reggae fix and the best soundtrack to what promises to be a scorching summer season.


Positive Vibration are happy to announce the return of the Reggae Social – a monthly reggae party, showcasing and celebrating the best in ska, rocksteady, roots & dub. Located at District and running throughout the summer, these socials will be some of the highlights of the summer social scene.


  • Saturday 27 April – DJ sets from Fire House, Xjukebox Music and Stepping Tiger – If you’re attending The Specials show at the Olympia, be sure to join us afterwards to continue the dancing and positive vibes
  • Saturday 25 May – DJ sets from Medicine Men, Dub Defenders, Catch A Fire.
  • Saturday 29 June – DJs TBC
  • Friday 19 July – DJs TBC
  • Sunday 25 August – Carnival Weekend Special featuring a DJ set from legendary musician, DJ & film-maker, Don Letts.

Time: 8pm – 1am. Price: £3 on the door


Leading dub engineer & producer, Mad Professor makes his long-awaited return to Liverpool, alongside legendary sound system operator & producer, Lloyd Coxsone of Sir Coxsone Outernational. This is going to be a very special show, not to be missed and will be a must-see event for any self-professed follower or fan of dub music.

Positive Vibration will also be hosting the Sound City official after party, alongside Fiesta Bombarda on Saturday 4 May at District. After a weekend of great live music packed in across the Baltic Triangle, this will be perfect way to top off the night, cut up the dance floor and claim rights to those last remaining Red Stripes.
