Just in case you were curious:
Many different stories surround the origin of St. Valentine’s Day. One of the most popular has Valentine of Rome as a priest in 300 AD. It was during this time that Emperor Claudius II had banned marriage because he thought married men were bad soldiers. But Valentine, the brave romantic, arranged the marriages in secret. When Claudius found out, he sentenced Valentine to death.
While he was in jail, Valentine befriended his jailer, whose daughter, Julia, was blind. Falling in love with her, Valentine performed a miracle to give her back her sight. On the evening before his execution, he left a note for his beloved, signing it “Your Valentine”.
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
