The Incredible 11
The Incredible 11 are one of the most unique acts to emerge from the Liverpool music scene for some time. The instrumental hip-hop band represents a collaboration of diverse artists, whose combined talent is, frankly, incredible. Throw into the mix their mission statement, ‘covering spine tingling renditions of all of your 90s and 00s classics’, and you’re drinking a well balanced cocktail of innovation and seductive familiarity.
Parliament Street Live Music venue On Air has provided a home for the Incredible 11, planning to have them smashing out new club bangers on a fortnightly basis. You can catch them in action this Friday (Pay Day, 31st August) at On Air if you fancy getting into what might be the next must-attend fixture of the Baltic Triangle’s night-time offer.
New Power Soul Club
Members of band-for-hire agency New Power Soul Club step into the frame to form a part of The Incredible 11. This community of professionally trained, energetic musicians are available for event hire – busy and always on their A-Game.
DJ Rasp
Next up is a very familiar face to Liverpool nightlife. The absolute chillest of the illest, guaranteed to make you smile with his multi-award winning mixing and record scratching: DJ Rasp. You might recognise Rasp if you follow the International DJ Association’s UK Championships, of which Rasp is a 3-time Champion, or as DJ in residence for Santa Chupitos Liverpool, Revolution Liverpool and Ormskirk’s Lime Tyger.
Echo String Quartet
Classically trained Echo String Quartet, who pop up in Corporate events all over the North West and have featured on Hollyoaks, provide a sumptuous bass of cello and swells of violin to tracks like Biggie’s ‘Hypnotize’ and Dre’s ‘Still D.R.E.’
MCs and Vocalists Julian and Amber
Providing the heart and soul are MOBO Award winning MC and vocalists Julian and Amber, each taking up vocals, and the roles of hype-man/woman. It’s here where the overwhelming sound experience of The Incredible 11 is cemented, forcing people out of their seat and onto the dancefloor because “this is my jam!”
And jams they have by the ounce. I’ve already mentioned ‘Hypnotize’ and ‘Still D.R.E.’, but there’s arrangements of ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ and ‘Ghetto Superstar’, and so many others in the bag that it looks like The Incredible 11 are set to be delivering new, dare I say it, upcycled material for the forseeable.
On Air
On Air and The Parliament Street Collective have been cooking this project up for six months with the New Power Soul Club, Rasp, Echo Strings, Julian and Amber. Jay Santangeli, Director of Operations for Parliament Street Collective, said of the band “they are bringing us, the area and the city…something phenomenal…trust me, I’ve witnessed the rehearsals.”
Get something different this weekend at On Air with the Incredible 11 and banish those back to work blues. Tickets for 31st August gig are available here.
