Live Music Thursdays with Rubber Dub at Constellations

Constellations is proud to announce their 2019 Live Music Thursdays programme in collaboration with Liverpool “bass connoisseurs”, Rubber Dub.

Incorporating funk, punk, hip-hop, jazz and psychedelia into a reggae and dub foundation, Rubber Dub are one of the most exciting and innovative bands to come out of the North West in the past few years. Such is their popularity, they have already played a number of high-profile events and festivals across the UK and continue to garner a significant fanbase nationally.

Every Thursday, the band will perform a set of their own material as well as a number of cover songs, often inviting local MCs, vocalists and musicians to perform with them. When asked what people can expect from Live Music Thursdays, guitarist Ché Wilson said: “Easy grooves, dance moves, spontaneity, smiles – come get involved whether you know you’re a musician yet or not”. With this in mind, the event is open to performers and musicians who would like to collaborate with the band, showcasing their skills and talent.

There’s a great line-up and Rubber Dub will be sharing the stage with their good friends including hip-hop collectives such as Nu Tribe, Motormouf, Senci, Saint, Remy Jude, and even jazz-oriented jams with Samurai Kip, as well as incorporating DJs into the jams.

Ché: “I guess other than our performances on-stage as a band, there aren’t really many bands doing what we’re doing in terms of promoting our own events (Xjukebox and Keep It Cryptic) in which we can plug into a lineup around names we are into, and building a wider community with many different genres, subcultures and ideas, united under a need for a new scene. We really want to push the barriers on what a band can be, bringing in MCs and beatboxers, trying out strange sounding guitars, adding dub FX to the whole mix etc.

Constellations is offering Vice’s new beer, Old Blue Last at 2 cans for £6. As well, the venue has launched a menu of £5 Rum Cocktails, available exclusively at Live Music Thursdays.
