Gavin & Stacey fans will have the chance to put their knowledge of the iconic sitcom to the ultimate test this Christmas as Liverpool’s Camp and Furnace hosts its very own quiz.
The Baltic Triangle-based venue has announced an extra show on Wednesday 18 December after tickets to the first event on 28 November sold out in less than hour.
The special Christmas-themed event, which can be played in teams or individually, will put players through their paces, quizzing them on all things Billericay and Barry, as the nation gears up for the series’ much-anticipated one-off return to screens on Christmas Day.
Prizes will include Smithy’s famous chippy order and a Welsh Dragon temporary tattoo, with the winning team taking home a Gavin & Stacey Barry Island Tour for two, plus spending money.
The quiz, for which tickets are now on sale, is part of Camp and Furnace’s packed festive schedule, which officially kicks off on 4 December with a pop-up cinema showing family favourite The Greatest Showman.
The screening is the first of a series of movies to be shown during December, with yuletide classics such as Elf, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Grinch and It’s A Wonderful Life, all in the mix.
Adding to offering this Christmas will also be Martin Kemp’s Now That’s What I Call Christmas on 7 December.
The much-loved former Spandau Ballet singer will take party-goers back to the 80s with a special guest DJ set, complete with ‘naughty and nice hot chocolate’, Christmas cocktails and mulled wine and cider.
Paul Speed, managing director at Camp and Furnace, said: “Each year, Christmas at Camp and Furnace just gets bigger and, with the return of Gavin and Stacey, we just couldn’t resist putting on our own quiz show.
“The first show’s sales were unprecedented and tickets for the extra date are already flying out, so fans need to get there fast!
“We’ve worked hard to make sure that our Christmas calendar features something for everyone, from family cinema screenings to a throwback 80s party night with none other than Martin Kemp, so we can’t wait to kick it all off.”
