After months of speculation, the people behind the elusive ArCains brand are excited to announce that one of, if not, THE largest gaming arcade in Europe is set to open its doors this December.
ArCains, ingeniously named to include the historical site in which it sits, the infamous Cains Brewery Village, as well as making reference as to what’s inside, also pays homage to one of the 1980’s most popular games, Arkanoid.
Word quickly spread about ArCains back in August this year when word got out about plans to bring a large gaming arcade to the city. Although social media channels are active, the brand has maintained its secret status and until recently has only published minimal information. However, ArCains will be opening to the public in time for Christmas.
Mikhail Group
The Company behind the ArCains brand is, MHALG, who have invested millions into some of Merseyside’s most striking venues including the grade ll listed Bold Hotel and lord Street Hotel in Southport as well as Liverpool’s largest Irish bar, Punch Tarmey’s which sits proudly alongside ArCains at the brewery Village.
The Future of the Old Cains Brewery
Andrew Mikhail, the man behind MHALG, said of this exciting new venture,
Cains is an incredible place. It is famous for its eclectic mix of shops, bars and restaurants and I think ArCains will be a welcome addition to the Cains family. The Brewery Village is being restored back to its former glory and I am proud that MHALG has a major part to play in that. We have invested some serious time into making ArCains a great part of Liverpool, with tributes paid to the city throughout the arcade.’
Not wanting to give too much away, ArCains still remains relatively vague about what to expect. Ian Aspinall, ArCains General Manager and former global number one of Tiger Woods PGA Tour video game said, ‘I have been a huge gamer from a very young age so when the opportunity arose to be involved with ArCains, well of course I took it. We have hundreds of machines that will sit across three floors. There are state of the art gaming PC’s, pinball machines, consoles and of course arcades but I can’t say much more than that, you’ll have to come and see for yourselves.’
The Space
with a dedicated team of builders currently transforming the disused space, the group behind ArCains are looking forward to the opening. More announcements will be coming soon across various platforms throughout the city so keep an eye on social media and your ears on the radio.
