With the run up to Christmas well and truly underway two of The Baltic Triangle’s coolest venues are hosting a series of events to get us in the festive spirit. Dockleaf and Kiosk, both situated minutes from each other in the iconic Cain’s Brewery, have announced some exciting plans for the autumn/winter season.
Kiosk – Alpine Ski-Lodge Hideaway
From this November to February 2018, Kiosk will transform itself into a winter ski-lodge – beginning this Thursday 9th November with the launch of ‘Bar Mont Blanc’ which promises to bring some dazzling festive magic to the Baltic Triangle.
In the style of an Alpine ski-lodge hideaway built over the outside terrace, the cosy log cabin will feature an array of warming winter drinks, with particular emphasis on bespoke mulled wines and vintage French vermouths, while traditional Christmas drinks will be given new leases of life.
Hand-made food will include tasty waffles, pretzels and hot and hearty soups, all created to bring nourishment and comfort to those short days and long nights.
Dockleaf – Pop-Ups, Events & Workshops
While Kiosk goes all-out with fancy aesthetics and décor, its popular neighbour, Dockleaf will reveal a series of collaborations and partnerships in the coming weeks and will launch a brand-new drinks menu in late November. Dockleaf is set in the original quality control room of Cain’s Brewery and their new menu of cocktails will feature a delicious and decadent range of unique concoctions created by the team.
With its ethos based around edification and enlightenment – and yes, plentiful drinking too – Dockleaf will also be running a series of workshops and hosted events in the coming weeks.
Beginning on Thursday November 9th the Holy Crab Supper Club will be serving five small plates including oysters for £32 per person (if you don’t eat oysters they will knock them off the price). For more info, contact hello@weareholycrab.co.uk
Thursday 16th November will see Laura’s Little Bake Off host an evening of cake, cocktails and competition. The event will enable attendees to taste a series of cakes as bakers compete to win the title of Best Baker. There will also be a special baking-inspired drinks menu to help wash all of the cakes down. To get involved, contact: llbakeoff@gmail.com
And on Tuesday 21st November, Turncoat Gin launches the first in a series of regular Tuesday tastings, called The Greenhouse Sessions, where a guest curator will showcase a select spirit, wine, beer, hot sauce, cheese and more, all matched to Dockleaf’s unique style.
With all this to look forward to and plenty more to come from other Baltic Triangle venues, the season to be jolly is most definitely upon us!
