So, you’ve devoured all the turkey, eaten all the mince pies, drank enough grog to fill the North Sea, stuffed your faces with cheese and chocolate, and have successfully navigated your way through that weird no-man’s land – you know, the time between Christmas and New Year where nobody is quite sure what to do with themselves – and now, you’re struggling to decide just how you’d like to see out the year and usher in 2018.
We know that saying goodbye is never easy, but whether you’ve loved or loathed 2017 (let’s face it, it wasn’t half as bad as 2016 was it?), bidding adieu is always made that much better with a massive party. And what better way to welcome 2018 into your lives than by spending New Year’s Eve in the Baltic Triangle!?
There’s plenty to get your crazy little party heads around this NYE, and hopefully the following list will make your decisions that bit easier.
The Baltic Market
The Baltic Market is hosting ‘New Year’s’ Eve Glitter Ball’, where for one night only, Cains Brewery will be transformed into one big disco haven, showered in glitter. There’ll be glitter cocktails, live bands, some of the best street food in the city, and a giant disco dance floor. So dust off your flares and head on down for all your glitter needs.
Tank Room
New addition to the Baltic Triangle, the Tank Room, is planning a FREE New Year’s Eve party from 7:30pm. The Sugar Hill Disco Djs will be there to funk up the night with some groovy beats, but be warned – once the venue is full, it’s full! Get down early to avoid lock-out disappointment.
Constellations
Veteran Baltic venue, Constellations, has an epic House and Techno treat for all those avid clubbers out there, as 303 hosts its famous NYE bash at the regenerated warehouse. The legendary Justin Robertson will be pumping out the tunes till 4am, and with the whole venue set to be incorporated into the festivities, Constellations will be one of the only places in Liverpool you can see in the New Year from outside.
24 Kitchen Street
For NYE, 24 Kitchen street will be joining forces with the No Fakin crew to present ‘The Needle Exchange’ which promises to offer respite from all the extortion of Christmas and the carnage of spending NYE in town. Playing the best in underground disco, funk, afro, Latin and soul, this night will take you on an enchanted musical journey without breaking the bank.
Expect nothing but good vibes.
Camp and Furnace
This year, join the guys down at Camp and Furnace for ‘Guilty Pleasures’, the UK’s number one Pop Party featuring the hilarious Massaoke Live – The live band singalong clubbing sensation!
With face painting, bright lights and big screens, Camp and Furnace proclaim that ‘it’s never too late to have the best night of 2017!’
Peaky Blinders Bar
Brand new to the Baltic, the Peaky Blinders Bar, based on the hit BBC TV series, is having a night of electrifying entertainment in the old Cains Brewery. The bar, which is spread over two floors and has been decorated in a similar vein to its Southport counter-part, has the UK’s number one Amy Winehouse Tribute Act performing and will be providing lucky punters with themed-cocktails and all things authentic to the show. Tickets are selling fast, get yours here – by order of the Peaky Blinders!
Gibberish Brewpub
Say goodbye to 2017 in intimate style, as fancy new venue, Gibberish Brewpub, prepares to have a free party…but only for a lucky few. With capacity being capped at around 100, Gibberish will put free tickets on Eventbrite very soon and will dazzle those who manage to get their hands on a pass with a cool live band and some DJs to see them into the New Year. It must be noted though, this will not be an all-out ‘mad party’ – Gibberish are aiming to create an alternative to the usual chaos of NYE, by providing somewhere people can go without being jostled, pushed, having to queue for the bar for hours, or having their eardrums damaged. Sounds pretty perfect to us!
Dock leaf
With live music from 6pm, Dockleaf promises to keep all you New Year’s Eve revellers entertained until the clock strikes midnight. Not only that though, once the live music stops, the bar will stay open till 3am, meaning there’s plenty of time to swing into 2018 with an almighty bang!
Alhambra Wine Bar
In a similar vein to their neighbours at Dockleaf, Alhambra will also be playing live music well into the early hours of New Year’s Day. Head down early to grab yourselves a seat, get yourselves comfortable and cosy, and sample all their delicious Spanish wines, beers and tapas. What better way to say goodbye to 2017 than celebrating with a little bit of ‘festividad espanola.’
Baltic Social
How about starting your New Year’s Celebrations with BOTTOMLESS PROSECCO AND BEERS?!! Yes, you did read that right. The Baltic Social’s ‘Bottomless Brunch’ is back for NYE…but there’s not much space left. The event will see ticket-holders being treated to two hours of endless pints, prosecco and brunch boards, and customers can stay sitting pretty while the Baltic Social’s fabulous team replenish your souls with everything your heart desires. This year there are three sittings: 1pm-3pm, 3.30-5.30pm, and 6pm-8pm. Prices are £30 a head with a £5 deposit on booking.

Blundell Street
The guys over at Blundell Street Supper Club are having a New Years’ Eve Bash in the form of ‘Gus with Matt’ – Gus is a French singer-songwriter who will be accompanied by Matt on the bongos. This fab duo will be singing all the chart covers and there’ll be a DJ on until 1:30am. A three-course dinner and table ticket start at £50pp and bar tickets are £10pp. Head over to the website for more details.
Custom House
This quaint little Irish-themed pub in the heart of the Baltic has a late licence for NYE and will be staying open till 1am. From the same creative minds who bring you the Botanical Garden each summer, Custom House will be serving everyone’s favourite Irish tipples to see you into 2018. Think whiskey, Irish cream, Guinness and lots of winter-warming hospitality. What better way to escape the madness of this time of year than by spending NYE among great friends and even better surroundings.
And with newcomers, Tap and Still, and Tusk, open as usual serving delicious food, warming drinks, festive cocktails, and everything you could ever want from the winter party season (with Tusk creating an extra special menu for NYE – see their Facebook Page for details), there really isn’t any point being anywhere else other than the Baltic Triangle this New Year’s Eve. Cheers!
