Are your children thinking about a career in digital?

Are your children thinking about a career in digital?

The Studio School is hosting the first of five open evenings on Thursday, November 16, from 5pm to 7pm in preparation for next year’s academic calendar, and they want to reach out to parents in the local Baltic Triangle community whose children are thinking about their Year 10 and 6th form options next year.

The Studio is paving the way for student careers in this booming digital economy by offering digital pathway options such as coding, creativity and entrepreneurship that sit alongside the KS4 and KS5 national curriculum, and credits its location as being one of its key success factors due to the local businesses that make up this digital hub providing apprenticeships, mentoring and advice to its students.

Introducing the Digital Entrepreneurs Network

The open evening will also see potential students get an introduction to its new Digital Entrepreneurs Network (DEN) programme, which showcases some of the amazing work being done at the school.

The DEN programme, funded by the EDGE Foundation – an independent education charity dedicated to raising the status of technical and professional education, wants to help teach kids to be creators, not consumers, by getting them to conceive, design, plan, develop and launch digital products, and this will form part of an interactive introduction to the school on the open evenings.

Enda Carey, DEN project lead says,

The DEN programme was conceived to help our students understand all aspects of creating products from concept to launch, and to really help turn them from consumers to creators. We’re delighted to be running this programme in the school and amazed at the projects our current students have developed so far.”

So, if you want to help steer your children’s future career in digital, support a local school, (and think life would be a little bit easier if the school run and your work commute were conveniently located just around the corner from one another), then we encourage you to sign up to our open evening.
