Liverpool Nightlife collective, SisBis are delighted to welcome the all-star trio of DJs, Winds & Skins (Donna Leake, Debora Ipekel and Ece Duzgit) to 24 Kitchen Street on Saturday 23 February 2019. They’ll be joined by SisBis resident Giovanna, with visuals by local illustrator, Helena Geilinger.

Winds & Skins are three London based DJs making an impact across global dancefloors. Donna Leake is curator at East London club and sushi house, Brilliant Corners, is an NTS regular and was recently nominated for Best Breakthrough DJ in DJ Mag’s best of British poll. Debora Ipekel hosts shows on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM and works as a researcher for Boiler Room having helped organise the groundbreaking shows in Palestine last year. Ece Duzgit is an NTS regular and co owns record label Zel Zele with Debora Ipekel. They will play a three-way back to back extended show.

Completing the lineup is SisBis resident, Giovanna, whose collection of records, shows and radio appearances is expanding exponentially. The last 18 months have seen her share the stage with artists such as Sun Ra Arkestra, Detroit Swindle and Auntie Flo as well as appear as a guest on Red Light Radio, Amsterdam and Liverpool’s Melodic Distraction. She has also just landed a monthly show on NTS Radio, which begins on 19 January.

On 23 February, Giovanna, Donna Leake, Debora Ipekel and Ece Duzgit will warm up with a show on NTS Radio from 4-5pm.

Giovanna, resident DJ and one third of all-female music collective SisBis said:

“Donna Leake was our very first booking as SisBis back in September 2017. We’re really excited to welcome her back to play at our party again, this time with two more amazing and inspiring DJs. It’s going to be a really special party.”

As usual any proceeds go to help Refugee Women Connect, a local charity that supports refugee and asylum seeking women – especially mothers – who have settled in Liverpool. Party goers are invited to bring nappies, period products and baby clothes to donate on the evening.
