Oktoberfest – the world’s largest beer festival – is making its way back to Liverpool, along with all the German beer and currywurst your heart desires.
Modeled after the original event held in Munich, the last weekend of September is set to embody Bavarian culture, with an array of celebrations taking place all over the Baltic Triangle.
With a taste of Munich ready to hit Merseyside, you won’t want to miss the Baltic Triangle’s take on Bavaria, and the chance to sample all the best German beers and foods on offer.
Baltic Market
Dust off your lederhosen, as Baltic Market is about to host its biggest Oktoberfest yet. If you can consume ridiculous amounts of hot dogs, down beers by the stein, or just love any excuse to round your mates up for a night out, then you’re in for an unmissable weekend.
This year’s festival will be welcoming …
Taking place from 27-30 September, Baltic Market’s Oktoberfest will bring together local craft breweries and local food traders, creating the best of Liverpool and Germany under one roof.
Eight pop-up restaurants and street food traders will be on hand to provide you with a mouthwatering selection of your German favourites, and there’s even vegan and vegetarian options to suit all. Courtesy of Black Lodge Brewery, Germany’s official Oktoberfest beer Paulaner will be served by the barrel, so you’re guaranteed to not leave thirsty. Hand selected German gins and wines are also available, so all can join in with the Oktoberfestivities, no matter what your alcohol preference.
With local music and plenty of opportunities to down a stein and have a dance, you won’t want to miss out on a chance to grab a decent seat at the Baltic Market this weekend.
No tickets will be sold in advance, it will be only be entry on the door. There are four sessions available, all of which are 18+.

Hinterlands
Brought to you by the team behind Constellations, Hinterlands is arguably the most creative and chic venue to have recently joined the Baltic Triangle family. Located on Mann St, the warehouse space is set to transform into its first Oktoberfest event – Oktobierfest. If you’re wanting a true Bavarian experience to quench your thirst for beer, or fill you up with frankfurter, then this is the place for you.
Oktobierfest at Hinterlands is teaming up with Cave Direct, H1780 Tap & Still, Black Lodge Brewery, Top Rope, Chapter, Mad Hatter and The Liverpool Craft Beer Expo to bring you the best of both worlds – all the German and Scouse beer you could dream of. The main bar will even host a Cave Direct Take Over which will feature this year’s official Oktoberfest beer. Customers will also be offered a chance to win a party keg at each session, ideal for anyone who loves free alcohol – and who doesn’t?
To satisfy your appetite, traditional pretzels from Liverpool’s very own German Bakery, Curry Wurst from The Wurst Witch, and some scouse twists on chicken and chips and tasty vegetarian street food will be served, and is guaranteed to keep you content if you’re craving some decent German grub.
It’s not Oktoberfest without an excuse to get your dancing shoes on, so entertainment will be provided by brass bands Hardcore Hornography and Bavarian Oompah Boys, as well as a local DJ’s line up.

Sessions run throughout the weekend; starting at 6pm on Friday 28 September and at an earlier time of 3pm on Saturday 29 September, and is not one to miss!

Dockleaf bar
If you’re not familiar with the incredible venues and bars that the Baltic Triangle has to offer, why not venture to Dockleaf bar for this year’s Oktoberfest?
Located in Cain’s brewery, the urban local prides itself on impeccable hospitality, and serves a wide range of delicious beers, seasonally rotational cocktails and wines from around the globe.
Kicking off on 29 September, Dockleaf Bar will host Oktoberfest celebrations for the entirety of the traditional dates, concluding on October 7.
Expect steins of Spaten Münchner Hell lager, beer tasting, live music and entertainment and traditional Bavarian and Scouse dishes, only a stone throw away from Baltic Market.

The Peaky Blinders Food Court
If you’re a Peaky Blinders fan and a lover of German beer, then you Shelby attending this Oktoberfest event.
The Peaky Blinders bar is set to host its first Oktoberfest event at their brand new food court, and there is plenty of German dishes to go around.
Expect to see live music, as well as Peaky’s regular vendors, who will all be putting on German specials for one weekend only. Peaky’s Pizzas, Baltic Fried Ice, Courtyard Carvery, Mr Meatballs, The Med, Hotpoffs, The Rotisseries, The Scoville Sorcery, Noodles Miatio and Cookie Dough & Co will all be creating a German twist on their popular treats, with Can providing top vegan and gluten free goods.
Entry is free and child and dog friendly, so why not celebrate Oktoberfest from 28-30 September at the Peaky Blinder’s bar with all the family?
